Evergreen Community Garden Coordinator (1-2 Positions)
 
Summary
The Evergreen Community Garden began in 1982 and has a long lasting tradition of ecological oriented gardening; workshops and potlucks galore; and a strong community of gardeners. The gardens have two paid coordinators each quarter, and at least one position will be vacant this coming Summer Quarter.
 
Dates
 – June 22 and beyond!
 
Responsibilities
· Maintenance of the community gardens, including fixing infrastructure and irrigation system; monitoring compost systems for adequate waste management; pruning the hedgerow
· Communication with our ~sixty person community garden via email, Facebook, Instagram, etc.; outreach to new gardeners and volunteers 
· Organizing work parties (after quarantine); initiating and leading new projects in the garden
· Writing/Editing the operational budget and various grants; balancing our budget and keeping track of purchases 
Required Qualifications
· MUST be enrolled as a TESC student for a minimum of 6 Credits for SUMMER QUARTER 2020 (either undergraduate or graduate students) 
· A passion and knack for gardening! 
· Ability to advocate for the gardens and yourself; let’s keep this community space alive and well!
Desired Qualifications
· Experience with farming and ecological agricultural management
· Experience leading workshops and work parties and keeping up consistent communication 
· Experience in construction and irrigation systems 
· Experience managing a budget and writing budget/grant proposals
· Freshmen and sophomores are encouraged to apply
Compensation
$531 learning allotment/ quarter as well as a letter of recommendation/references from Student Activities
