This course covers the properties of ultrasonic sound, and how bats use sound to navigate and feed. We take a detailed look into how bat detectors work, the different types that are available, and their technical evolution over the decades. Both static and hand held detectors will be covered. Learning the theory behind using a bat detector can often result in better survey results.
