On July 29th at 11am, Mighty Earth will be hosting a virtual press conference on zoom, followed by petition deliveries to various Costco locations across the country. At the press conference, we will feature two speakers who will talk about our work to clean up the meat industry and answer questions from the press.

Costco currently sells meat produced by Cargill, an industrial meat producer that is responsible for deforestation across Latin America and water pollution in the United States. Cargill’s meat processing plants have also become hotbeds for coronavirus outbreaks. It is time for Costco to step up as a leader for the environment and for people by cutting its contracts with Cargill.

The goal of this event is to put direct pressure on Costco through media attention and our petition deliveries, but we also want to put additional pressure on Costco through individual actions. Costco members, please use this link  to write a letter to Costco’s CEO explaining why it is important to you that Costco stops selling Cargill’s meat.
