Aqua-Terr Systems, Inc. (ATSI) is a Pacific Northwest based environmental, biological, and land use, consulting, and management firm specializing in assisting clients with meeting project design standards and goals given regulatory requirements and best available science. Since 1988, we have served over 1,750 clients on over 40,500 acres of public and private land through local, state, and federal biological permitting and consultation processes. We assess biological critical areas on tracts greater than 1,000 acres and parcels less than 1 acre for large and small development projects, including commercial, residential, and public facilities.
ATSI is seeking a part to full time, Editorial Assistant to the President, to join our Bellingham based team of an Operations Manager and three Biologists and provide high level, editing and administrative support to the President and team members, including payroll/accounting/bookkeeping and clerical duties.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Prioritizes simultaneous, multiple goals by scheduling and accomplishing tasks required to meet specific, targeted deadlines.
- Edits scientific and technical documents.
- Maintains President timesheet and other company payroll duties.
- Provides accounting support through QuickBooks.
- Performs clerical duties:
- Organizes and manages scheduling for team.
- Internal and external communications liaison.
- Prepares documentation for internal use.
- Researches, creates, and presents information to team.
- Maintains office filing systems.
- Maintains office, field, and team supplies/gear.
- Maintains confidence with sensitive information.
- Facilitates onboarding of new team members.
- Updates and maintains website.
Required Qualifications
- Five years’ experience collaborating professionally to accomplish a shared result.
- Four consecutive years positioned as an editor, administrator, business manager, executive assistant, receptionist, or related position.
- Two years of writing and editing technical documents.
- One year working with QuickBooks.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office 365 and Word Press.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
Preferred Skills
- IAAP Certified Administrative Professional (CAP) or professional certification in office management.
- Self directed and able to work without supervision.
- Comfortable in both leadership and team player roles, including leading meetings and supervising when needed.
Timeframe
- Part time, long term committed with potential for full time opportunities.
Compensation
- Starting pay at $16.50 per hour.
- Opportunities for wage increase with experience and time with eventual salary pay (up to $20.00 per hour).
