World-renowned stick artist Patrick Dougherty is coming to Hands On Children’s Museum and this is your chance to help bring his one-of-a-kind sculpture to life in the Museum’s new Outdoor Discovery Center.

Volunteers are needed from July 29 through August 16 to help with stick gathering and preparation, and sculpture construction. The work may be physically demanding but the fruits of your labor will last for several years and provide countless smiles and moments of wonder.

To get involved please look closely at the jobs posted below and contact the Museum at mailto:volunteershocm@gmail.com with your preferred work schedule including days desired and shift times. Please note that Patrick has requested that priority placement be given to volunteers who can work multiple shifts/days to help with reducing the amount of training necessary.

If you are not currently a Museum volunteer you will be required to fill out a waiver form prior to volunteering. In addition to the waiver form, select positions do require a Washington State Patrol background check and are noted below.

If you are not familiar with Patrick’s work visit his website at www.stickwork.net for photos and videos from around the world.

So…Grab your work gloves, water bottle, rain coat (just incase)  and get ready for a rewarding experience that will stay with you – and the Museum – for a few years to come!
