SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The incumbent in this position will provide technical assistance, education and outreach on household hazardous materials
and sustainability programs in environmental public health. Responsibilities include utilization of technical knowledge and
skills in the implementation, evaluation, revision, and coordination of environmental health education and behavior change
programs that range from emergency preparedness with other health professionals to outreach with childcare facilities,
retailers, schools, and community groups. Gathers, catalogues and tracks program-supporting data and information;
develops, updates and revises (in consultation with various professional and community partners) informational and
educational materials and strategies to reach target audiences. In addition, the incumbent will conduct presentations,
education/trainings, and workshops; coordinate and staff special events; recruit, train, mentor and supervise
volunteers/interns. Participates in program/strategic planning and budget/funding development to build community
awareness, education, and outreach activities; and contributes to reporting required by grant funding. Some evening and
weekend hours are required.
