The Public Works, Water Resources Line of Business is looking for a dynamic individual to work as the City Wide Habitat and Stewardship Coordinator.

This position will be a full time (40 hours per week) project funded position. Funding for the position is anticipated to support this position for up to 2 years from the date of hire.

This position will be the primary staff responsible for coordinating, tracking and reporting with regards to the City of Olympia’s Habitat and Stewardship Strategy. In addition to coordinating the Habitat and Stewardship Strategy, this position will also assist the Environmental Services Section Supervisor in coordinating and setting the strategic direction for Habitat programs.
The successful candidate will be expected to have an in depth understanding of Urban Landscape Ecology and Habitat Restoration. They should have experience writing master plan “type” documents, writing and administering grants and be able to foster relationships within the organization and the community. They need to be dedicated to a team oriented environment where open communication is the norm.
