The Nisqually River Education Project seeks full time intern for fall quarter 2014.  $500 stipend will be available upon successful completion.

The intern will assist staff with public school presentations for 3rd-8th graders and engage field studies including fall water quality monitoring at sites throughout the Nisqually watershed; riparian restoration/tree planting.  Intern will also staff activities at the Eatonville Salmon Festival, providing fun, educational activities for the public such as salmon lifecycle beaded key chains, salmon print t-shirts and henna tattoos.

Background: Nisqually River Education Project (NREP) is a watershed education program which implements key elements of the Nisqually Watershed Stewardship Plan, providing students service learning projects that link Washington State learning goals and standards with local environmental issues, inspiring stewardship of the Nisqually Watershed and the world. We also provide professional development and enrichment opportunities for teachers to get them informed and excited about protecting the Nisqually watershed where they work, live and play.
