Job description
This important member of the museum’s education department team is responsible for the recruitment, screening, interviews, orientation, training and recognition of museum volunteers who support our visitors and educational programs. This position also coordinates extended volunteer needs for large museum events such as Sand in the City. Must be able to work effectively with all museum departments, and have excellent networking and relationship building skills. Experience in a volunteer program leadership role desired.
Candidates who also have a background in education may combine volunteer coordination with program teaching/coordination for more hours.
Core schedule Mon-Fri or Tues-Sat. Must be flexible to work evenings and weekends as needed around museum programming.
