MEDIA ALERT

Save KPLU needs to raise $7 million in six months to match the amount of the current offer stated in the letter of intent outlining Pacific Lutheran University’s sale of KPLU to the University of Washington.  To date, Save KPLU has raised over $3.5 million toward that goal.  Donations to the Save KPLU campaign will ensure the survival of an independent, local newsroom, hand-picked and professionally curated jazz and blues, and a continuing commitment to local music education.  As part of the many events KPLU is planning throughout the Puget Sound area, there will be meetings to encourage community conversations around the campaign and the future of 88.5.  Friends of 88-5 FM–the community group raising money for the Save KPLU campaign–is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization.
