Executive Director, Washington Water Trails Association (WWTA), Seattle, WA
POSITION DETAILS: The Executive Director leads mission work protecting and promoting public access to Washington waterways and shorelines with members, volunteers, government, and private sector partners. Responsibilities include improving WWTA’s capacities through revenue generation, educational and membership programs, water trail creation and maintenance, and publicity on issues around lack of public shoreline access.
EXPERIENCE: Professional experience managing and leading a nonprofit or private entity. Qualified candidates must have had proven success in producing income or fundraising (major gifts, membership recruitment and retention, corporate partnerships), working with governmental partners and volunteers. An understanding of the shoreline environment is a plus. Experience in outdoor recreation is desirable, especially non-motorized boating.
SKILLS: Ability to cultivate and secure funding resources and partnerships; outstanding interpersonal skills in leadership, management of volunteers and staff, proven fiscal acumen and experience; willingness to perform the wide range of tasks that a small organization imposes. Excellent written and oral communication, knowledge of social media and web. MS Office, QuickBooks, GIS mapping, and print publication knowledge.
The ED will travel throughout Washington and must have a valid driver’s license. Non-motorized on-water and outdoor skills a plus.
START DATE: On or before May 1st, 2017
SALARY: Upper $40K to lower $50K annually for 4 day work week
