Our topic for August is The Fukushima Nuclear Reactor Accident and its Effect on Washington State.
Al Conklin (Lead Trainer and Health Physicist at the Washington State Department of Health, Office of Radiation Protection) will discuss how the accident occurred, why it was so bad, and the implications for Washington State; including how much radioactivity reached us, how the news media and public reacted, and how public concerns were addressed.
