Intern-Field Geologist, Hydrogeologist, or Scientist
SoundEarth is a 100% employee-owned environmental consulting firm headquartered in Seattle. Our team of more than 50 dedicated and talented professionals work together to improve the environment we live and work in. We have an opportunity in our Seattle office for a paid Intern; a highly motivated individual with a background and interest in Geology, Hydrogeology, or Environmental Science. The position will consist of assisting Project Managers with activities ranging such as:
- Field sampling of soil and groundwater;
- Oversight and documentation of environmental drilling;
- Well installation operations;
- Underground storage tank closure and assessment;
- Observation of remedial excavation and historical research.
Responsibilities will include assisting in field work activities and documentation, basic data analysis/data organization, and technical report preparation.
Qualified candidates must be scheduled to or have recently graduated from a Geology, Hydrogeology, or Environmental Science degree program, have a strong work ethic, excellent written and verbal communication capabilities, strong organizational skills, and proficiency with MS Office applications.
The candidate will perform field work in a range of weather conditions and must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record to travel to project sites, as needed. A current Hazardous Waste 40 Hour Health & Safety certificate will also need to be obtained as a condition of employment.
