State-wide

  1. Rescheduled offshore drilling hearing! Monday, March 5th from 3:00-7:00 at the Red Lion Hotel in Olympia. Show up to keep the trump administration from drilling off our coasts! Facebook event here.
  2. Keep fracked gas out of Washington! Permitting agencies are accepting comments regarding the climate impacts of the World’s Largest Methanol Refinery! Submit yours now! The deadline is March 1st!
  1. One action can help two iconic species of the Northwest – orca and salmon – to recover from their trends toward extinction. Tell Governor Inslee to increase spill over the Snake River dams.
  2. Sign up to demand a 100% renewable energy future at the hearing on PSE’s 20-Year Plan on February 21 in Renton! Click here!

Seattle

  1. Saturday, February 10th from 12:00-2:00 at Washington Hall: Fracked gas comment writing party! We will be submitting comments to permitting agencies regarding the climate impacts of the world’s largest fracked gas to methanol refinery! What we submit in this comment period will affect how permitting agencies study the climate impacts of other fracked gas projects as well- including the Tacoma LNG Facility. This is a child friendly event!  RSVP here!
  2. Wednesday, February 21st from 12:00-7:00 at  the Renton Community Center: Hearing on Puget Sound Energy’s 20-year plan, which currently includes the Tacoma LNG Facility, plans to continue burning coal, and add new fracked gas power plants. Come speak out and demand 100% clean energy now! RSVP on Facebook!

Wednesday, February 21st 1:00 at City Hall: Come out and pressure our city council in Seattle, to officially oppose the Tacoma LNG Facility, which would be built on Puyallup treaty land, and would lock us into decades of fracked gas usage in Washington.   4. Thursday, March 15th from 6:30-8:30 PM at the Sierra Club Office: Join our monthly organizing meeting to stop fossil fuel infrastructure! Right now, we are focusing on stopping the Tacoma LNG facility, and the worlds largest fracked gas to methanol refinery, proposed in Southwest Washington. We are currently working on stopping the largest methanol refinery in the world, proposed in Kalama, and funding a just and equitable transition to a clean energy economy through the Alliance for Jobs and Clean Energy ballot initiative!

Lean all about the initiative to put a price on carbon in order to fund a just and equitable transition to a clean energy economy, and gain the skills necessary to put this initiative on the ballot!
