PEAK Train the Trainer Community Program – Tuesday October 11th, 6pm – 8pm, Olympia REI

The PEAK program, designed for kids ages 6-12, is a wonderful education
piece that can be worked into any outdoor learning program for schools,
clubs and organizations.

An acronym for Promoting Environmental Awareness in
Kids, the PEAK program teaches kids the 7 Leave No Trace principles of
outdoor ethics (www.LTN.org <http://www.ltn.org/>) in an exciting,
interactive format through a series of games and activities.

REI has been
promoting and teaching the PEAK program for nearly a decade and is
partnering with the LNT Center for Environmental Ethics to train educators
to take the program back to schools, day camps and clubs. You’ll learn easy
language and engaging ways to introduce the LNT principles as well as games
which drive the principles home. All attendees will receive a 10% discount
on the purchase of the PEAK modules which are available online from
www.lnt.org/programs/peak. The program is free but registration is required
online at www.rei.com/olympia.
