PURPOSE: Provide assistance to Maritime Environment and Sustainability staff to acquire, receive, organize, and present environmental data. Assistance with data analysis and evaluation for project and program planning, design, implementation, and monitoring. Environmental data management is critical to providing managers and port departments with accurate and accessible data and records for tracking and assessing progress on port environmental programs, goals, plans, and actions. Effective data management is also essential for communicating with local, state, and federal agencies, Treaty tribes, and citizens. We are looking for a candidate committed to collaborative work, with the ability to assist environmental staff on contamination assessments and remediation actions, compliance with urban air quality, noise, and transportation requirements, green-house gas reduction actions, energy management, sustainable project development, habitat restoration, and waste reduction. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: In order to be eligible for an internship, applicants must be enrolled in school, about to enroll in school, or a recent graduate from an accredited degree program. Candidates must be able to maintain student status in an Undergraduate program throughout the duration of the internship unless recently graduated and are eligible for up-to twelve months post-graduation. Interns will be subject to all Port policies and procedures. | |
