Job Description:
This one-year term appointment will provide statewide leadership to advance Green and Healthy Schools (GHS) Wisconsin and energy education through the Wisconsin K-12 Energy Education Program (KEEP). To accomplish the position goals applicants will need to work with Wisconsin Center for Environmental Education (WCEE) staff, statewide partners, K-12 school teachers and school administrators. The duties of this position entail developing resources and identifying needed support for schools in the GHS program. This person is a key point of contact for schools, connecting schools with appropriate providers to support their progress through the GHS program. The successful applicant will promote the GHS and KEEP programs through social media outlets, conference and presentations. This position is a one year position. Contract renewal/continuation is dependent upon available funding and job performance.
Required Qualifications:
–Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Education, Conservation Education, Education, Environmental Science/Natural Resources, Energy, Sustainability, or related field.
–Knowledge of environmental education.
–Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
–Two years of experience in education either formally in a school or informally with a nature/community center, agency, or organization.
–Demonstrated ability to self-motivate and self-direct.
–Experience in managing multiple projects and partners.
–Ability to collaborate effectively with a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
–Master’s degree in Environmental Education, Conservation Education, Education, Environmental Science/Natural Resources, Energy, Sustainability, or related field.
–Direct experience developing and leading environmental education programs and professional development programs for multiple age groups (youth and adults).
–Knowledge of the Wisconsin K-12 educational system.
–Knowledge of energy efficiency concepts.
–Experience working with diverse stakeholders in an educational setting.
–Strong computer skills (database management, Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite).
–Comfortable working both independently and collaborating with team members remotely using cloud-based computing solutions.
