Washington Sea Grant, in partnership with the Puget Sound Restoration Fund, Hood Canal Mariculture and the NOAA WDVA Veterans Conservation Corps Internship Program, is offering this free learning opportunity for people interested in the commercial cultivation of kelp and other seaweeds in Washington State. Topics to be covered include:
- What you can grow in Washington waters
- Factors to consider
- Operating a seaweed farm in Washington State
- Potential markets
This webinar-based workshop will be broadcast live from Pacific Lutheran University. Limited space is available for in-person participation with priority given to veterans, active-duty military personnel, and those without internet access (see event page for details). The entire webinar will be recorded and freely available on the Washington Sea Grant website following the broadcast.
