Pay: $4,230 – 5,668 per month
The LOTT Clean Water Alliance, a regional wastewater utility, is seeking an experienced Environmental Educator to plan, develop, and implement a broad range of public information, education, and marketing programs to further LOTT’s mission and goals.
Typical duties include, but are not limited to the following:
• Develops and coordinates youth and adult educational programs by establishing and leveraging partnerships with the Hands on Children’s Museum, local school districts, institutions of higher learning, organizations, agencies, and partner jurisdictions;
• Develops K-12 education programs and materials relevant to local school district Grade Level Expectations (GLEs) and Essential Academic Learning Requirements (EALRs);
• Responsible for day-to-day operations and promotion of LOTT’s WET Science Center to ensure the facility is used to its full potential and LOTT’s educational goals are met;
• Manages development of education materials for varied audiences, providing concepts, text, editing, and design guidance for curricula, booklets, newsletters, reports, websites, promotional materials, and other materials
Qualifications
Bachelors Degree with major study in education, communications, natural sciences, or closely allied field. Minimum two years professional experience in education, curriculum development, public relations, and/or community outreach. Knowledge of wastewater treatment, water quality, ecology, and/or related sciences preferred. Professional experience providing public communications services for government agencies, utilities, and/or environmental organizations is desirable.
