Location: Cordova, Alaska
Job Description:
Responsibilities include database management (Microsoft Access), data analysis, modeling, & assisting with preparation of peer-reviewed reports & manuscripts. Willingness to go to sea 1-2 d/mo, and 7-14 d research cruises approximately twice a year in Prince William Sound. Field work will involve some or all of the following: fish capture (e.g. trawls, longlines; fish identification; acoustic-tagging; assisting with avian field work.
Basic Qualifications: MSc degree in fisheries science or closely related field. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access), ArcGIS, ArcView and statistical and graphical packages. Willingness to learn ?

not already proficient. Excellent communication skills including technical writing, one-on-one discussions, and presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences. Experience in field data collection. Candidates should be creative problem solvers, resourceful, and self-motivated.
Applicants must be in good physical condition and be able to work in a rainy environment, in winter conditions and at sea or in the field on a regular basis. Applicant must be U.S. or Canadian citizen or have U.S.
Permanent Residence status.
Compensation: Monthly Wages: $3,000 -$3,500 DOE plus full benefit package.
Duration: This is a full-time, 2-year position with possible 1-year extension.
