RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support the Sustainability in Prisons Project (SPP) mission to “conduct ecological research and conserve biodiversity by forging collaborations with scientists, inmates, prison staff, students, and community partners. Equally important, we help reduce the environmental, economic, and human costs of prisons by inspiring and informing sustainable practices”.

Multi Media Tasks-

  • add new content, update, and maintain SPP website
  • catalog media coverage on SPP server, update SPP press packets and maintain hard copy files of media pieces
  • maintain Vimeo site to archive video content
  • update and create protocols
  • assist with SPP newsletter
  • develop website content for the SPP national conference

Conference Coordinator Tasks- SPP national conference Sept. 12th & 13th

  • manage invite list; assist w/participant travel logistics
  • arrange transportation for tour portion of the conference
  • identify vendors and get cost estimates for food, beverages, and other conference related purchases
  • assemble participant information packets
  • assist with security clearances for prison tours
  • other duties as assigned to support the SPP mission

Reporting & Accountability

  • provide weekly updates to supervisor and at SPP team meetings

Opportunities

  • provide valuable contributions to SPP programs and contribute to the establishment of a the new National SPP Network
