RAD facilities is a delightful anomaly.
Our program is the only dorm-maintenance service that hires student workers as leads. This has been the way of things at Evergreen since 1972. We bolster a learning environment that is equal to Evergreen classrooms. Technical skills and on-the-job experience have inspired many crew members to value their job as much as their education.

Our program is unique in many ways, but the most exciting aspect of RAD is that students steward the spaces they live in, thus making student power and student originated projects core elements of our processes.

The Sustainability Crew was formed in 2008. We focus on experimenting with adaptive sustainable technologies (solar, compost heat, aquaponics, and so on) and implementing them in Evergreen’s on-campus housing.  We are interested in bringing new technologies as well as reintroducing “old” time-tested agricultural methods. We are committed to moving Evergreen towards carbon neutrality as well as promoting food sovereignty for students.

The Current Sustainability Crew can be contacted at radsustainability@evergreen.edu
