Exploring local magazines

While shopping at the night bazaar last evening, I came across a stand where a man was selling amulets, religious items, and monk-blessed tapestries. I bought an amazing print featuring both Thai and Burmese script, with the print of a well known monk’s hands (this is supposed to bring me good luck!).

While I was paying for my blessed print, I saw that the shopkeeper had an informational catalog of sorts, all about Thai amulets and votives – that IS lucky!

I realized after this that I had some magazines from Cambodia that I had forgotten to post as well: one that is some sort of fashion/local scene magazine (it’s all in Khmer) that I found at a bookstore, and two zines from an NGO called Epic Arts that runs an art school for disabled people. Here’s a look inside them:
