ILC Week 1

This quarter has already been busy. I have spent time this week researching plant starting trays, seeds, and dirt. I have contacted several businesses and was able to get a truckload of dirt donated from Walker’s Landscape in Chehalis. I ended up ordering trays from amazon after none of the donations I was seeking came through. We now have enough seeds and trays to do over 4300 starts! So far we have planted 960 of them. This week I delivered 99 starts (kale and strawberries) down to Longview. The president of Cascadia Cares is there and is also a leader in the Belly Brigade street feed outreach. I will be returning to focalize (focus locally) a community garden in a low income neighborhood.

I have been doing lots of wildcrafting: onion, carrot, maple-fronds, poplar buds, and verpa mushrooms. Check out my image gallery for pictures of my finds and how I have utilized them!
