This spring we will be continuing the Eye On Nature program for a 5th year! I would like to invite any and all who are interested in participating to attend the Eye On Nature volunteer training on April 9th or April 11th. To RSVP Please call Sheila Wilson at 360-561-0203.

The Eye on Nature Program is a set of 12 field trips in April, May, and June focused on giving kids experience collecting data as citizen scientists. The program is organized through a partnership between the Nisqually River Education Project, Chehalis Basin Education Consortium, Nisqually Reach Nature Center, and Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge.

Volunteers lead small groups of 5 students around the twin barns loop trail assisting them as they record observations using the “NatureMapping” protocol developed by University of Washington and Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife.
