Volunteer on the prairies Saturday April 11th from 10-3 at the Glacial Heritage Preserve. In April the prairies come alive with color. However, the South Sound Prairies are endangered and need help in order to stay around. This volunteer opportunity is a great chance to get out on a closed-to-the-public preserve and work outside, learn about prairies, practice plant ID, and meet other volunteers who are enthusiastic about the environment. We will be primarily pulling scotch broom, the scourge of the prairies, but will also be burning encroaching Douglas fir trees.
