1. Water Quality Data Coordinator – Lacey WA

 

The Washington State Department of Ecology has an incredible opportunity for in the Water Quality Management Unit  to serve as a Water Quality Data Coordinator (Environmental Specialist 3).

 

This position serves as the program’s Environmental Information Management (EIM) Data Coordinator for all water quality data submitted for Washington’s Water Quality Assessment.  The Assessment is an important tool for providing a status of water quality in the state and meeting goals envisioned in the federal Clean Water Act.  This position also provides scientific analysis and support for management of the Watershed Assessment Tracking System (WATS) database and related GIS mapping projects.

 

The successful candidate will provide quality customer service and technical assistance for EIM data systems for Ecology staff and external users such as other local, state, and federal agencies, as well as the general public.  Besides managing environmental monitoring data for the Water Quality Program, the position also serves as a representative on the agency’s EIM users work group, developing user guidelines, providing training, and system testing as needed.
