The Pacific Northwest Region is seeking a dynamic, creative candidate to serve as the Regional Conservation Education Coordinator and Partnership Specialist (Partnership Coordinator) in the Office of Communications and Community Engagement.

The Office of Communications and Community Engagement coordinates: media relations, Congressional affairs, youth engagement, conservation education, public involvement, partnerships, volunteer and service programs, internal communications, employee engagement, brand management, graphic design, printing and audio-visuals for the Region.

 

Duties include:

In support and partnership with other Community Engagement team members:

 

  • Oversees the Regional Conservation Education Program (50%).
  • Supports the Regional Partnership, Volunteer, and Service Programs (50%) to ensure to deliver timely, accurate reporting, web-based outreach and networking, and grants and agreements management.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor to the Director on conservation education, youth, and partnership topics.
  • Facilitates, negotiates, and reviews partnership agreements alongside the Community Engagement team and Regional Grants and Agreements staff.
  • Coordinates with other Regional staff areas, national forest counterparts, and the Washington Office to maintain communications networks and to integrate Conservation Education Program goals in support of the Forest Service mission.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with key publics, partners and stakeholders.
  • Publicly promotes the Conservation Education and Partnership Programs by producing marketing materials, briefing papers, web and social media content, and other information products.

The Community

 

The city of Portland is located in northwestern Oregon, bordering Vancouver, Washington. The major highways intersecting the city are I-5, I-84, I-205 and US-26.  The population of the City Portland exceeds 500, 000, and more than 2 million people live in the Portland metro area.  Additionally, there are many large suburban communities.  Portland is a full service community with various and numerous businesses, banking, restaurants, coffee shops, denominations of churches, health care and educational facilities.  The downtown area is complete with an open air plaza and offers a world-class public transportation system.  Commuting is easy, whether it be by public transportation system, car or bike.
