The goal of this recruitment is to fill this position at an Operations & Policy Analyst 4 level. However, we encourage candidates who meet the minimum qualifications for an Operations & Policy Analyst 3 to apply, as we may consider under-filling the position until the selected candidates meets the minimum qualifications.

Multiple Positions:
This recruitment announcement will be used to establish a list of qualified candidates to fill three current vacancies.

The successful candidates will serve as the agency’s policy advisors on assigned energy sectors, resources and technologies. Duties include advising the agency director and program managers, researching, analyzing and evaluating policy and programmatic energy policy issues with statewide impact.

The agency is recruiting for three senior policy analysts which will focus on one of these policy areas:
— Electricity integration and resiliency specialist. Primary focus on resiliency of the electric grid and a secondary focus on integration of renewable energy resources into the electric grid. May include work related to energy storage, transmission, energy imbalance markets, demand response and other energy-related topics.
— Renewable resource programs and markets specialist. Primary focus on mandatory and voluntary renewable resource markets and a secondary focus on greenhouse gas mitigation. May include work related to the renewable portfolio standard, green power programs, the electricity regulatory structure, and other energy-related topics.
— Thermal energy and biomass specialist. Primary focus on the thermal energy sector and a secondary focus on the transportation sector. May include work related to developing an inventory and framework for thermal energy use in Oregon, forest-related energy issues, resiliency of the thermal energy sector, combined heat and power, biomass, biofuels and alternate fueled vehicles.
