Salary: $6,127.00 – $8,196.00 Monthly

The Columbia Slough Sediment Program Manager (Water Resources Program Manager) position is located in the Watershed Services Group and works under the general direction of the Columbia Watersheds Manager. This position is responsible for implementation and strategic development of the Columbia Slough Sediment Program, which operates in a complex regulatory context to ensure City compliance with regulatory mandates and protection of public health.

This position requires knowledge of pollutant characteristics in sediment and water of natural systems. Management decisions are data-driven and this position is responsible for formulating independent recommendations regarding data needs and data interpretation for sediment contamination, municipal stormwater quality and source investigation. This position manages and directs consultant efforts including preparing contract documents, managing project scopes, budgets and schedules, providing quality control of work products and approving deliverables.

This position requires initiative to work effectively with external and internal partners with the perspective that a collaborative approach is essential to achieve program goals and objectives. This position works with representatives of regulatory agencies to negotiate solutions to technical and compliance issues. This position requires independent judgment concerning issues that are complex, interpretive, and evaluative in nature.
