Position: Farm Marketing Coordinator

Status: Part-time, 20-30 hours/week; temporary, March-October
Schedule: March-April: Wed-Fri; May-Oct: Tues-Friday with occasional plant watering/group hosting on weekends
Compensation: $12-15 per hour, depending on experience
Supervisor: Farm Manager

Position Description

The Farm Marketing Coordinator supports the Farm Manager whose time is divided between farm operations and other farm programming. This position is responsible for assisting the Farm Manager in spring farm management, the coordination of the DIG(Dedicated Intergenerational Gardeners)and Senior Services partnership, the summer farm stand, and the CSA(Community Supported Agriculture) program. In the spring, this person will assist with volunteer and intern coordination, seeding and planting, irrigation set up and watering plants. This may include supervision of harvest and processing of produce and CSA box/bag packing, delivery and tabling at Senior Services. This person will lead the on-site farm stand, working with youth (aged 15-18) and interns, starting in May until October. This person will also be responsible for co-managing irrigation needs, training will be provided as needed. This person will be trained on producing the CSA newsletter and will provide training to interns to assist with its completion.
This person will be outgoing and excited to engage and teach youth, seniors and other volunteers. This person will have an eye for detail in leading the market stand as well as completing proper harvesting techniques. This person will be comfortable leading the youth in the summer program, teaching them proper harvesting and processing technique as well as market stand display and cashiering skills. This person will have weekly check-ins with the Farm Manager to go over priorities and program updates.

Qualifications

Required
• Experience working with youth (particularly high-schoolers) and diverse populations
• Self-motivated and strong leadership skills
• Farm or gardening experience
• Experience performing manual labor outdoors in inclement weather
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Drivers license
