Climate Change and Rising Seas: Hell And High Water
Wednesday, May 31st, at 7:00 pm
at Peddler Brewing Company
1514 NW Leary Way, Seattle, WA
This panel in the Climate Science on Tap series will look at sea level rise – its causes and impacts around Puget Sound, as well as what is being done to prepare and respond. You’ll hear from three fascinating experts who work daily with the issue: LuAnne Thompson, Director of the UW Program on the Climate Change; Colin Wahl, Environmental Scientist with the Tulalip Tribes; and James Rufo Hill, Climate Adaptation Specialist at Seattle Public Utilities. Have dinner, enjoy a beer, and get answers to questions, such as: How high will sea level rise? How prepared is Seattle? How will sea level rise impact Tribal natural resources and culture? How can sea level rise be reversed? For more information see Cascadia Climate Action. Enjoy stimulating discussions around the beer garden tables. Support science, learn what is being done, and what you can do. It’s free, fun and family friendly!
Sponsored by Cascadia Climate Action in partnership with the UW Program on the Environment, and support from Peddler Brewing Company, Tulalip Tribes, Seattle Public Utilities and UW Program on Climate Change.
