OPPORTUNITY

 

The Pacific NW Region, Recreation, Lands and Minerals Director Area, located in Portland, Oregon, will soon be advertising to fill permanent position as the Regional Trails and Dispersed Recreation Program Manager, GS-0101/0401/0807-13. We are looking for an energetic individual with a great background in trails and strong communication, coordination, and leadership skills.

The trails program manager provides program oversight, strategic direction/guidance, and leadership to the Region’s Recreation, Travel Management, and Trail Management activities. Provides expert technical advice, support and guidance to the Regional Directors, Forest Supervisors and their staffs on various trails, dispersed recreation and shooting sport issues. Provides leadership for implementation of the new National Trails Strategy, National Forest System Trails Stewardship Act, and regional Sustainable Recreation Strategy.
