Program Associate – Position Description

 

E3 Washington (Education for the Environment, Equity and the Economy) seeks a creative, resourceful and detail oriented Program Associate to provide administrative, communications and conference planning support to the organization. Formally the Washington Association for Environmental Education, E3 is Washington’s umbrella organization supporting environmental and sustainability education (ESE) and educators across the state.   Our mission is to “ensure that every young person in WA has access to high quality environmental and sustainability education experiences in both formal and informal settings that are responsive to community and youth assets, aspirations and needs.”

 

E3 WA will host the North American Association for Environmental Education (NAAEE) National Conference scheduled October 9 – 13 in Spokane, WA.  In addition to providing general administrative and communications support, we seek a part time Program Associate to help prepare and support participants from across the state engage in this national (increasingly international) environmental and sustainability education conference.  Much of this work will entail communications, marketing and outreach, utilizing online and varied social media tools and we anticipate the need for ongoing administrative and communications support in the aftermath of the conference.


Program Associate will support the following duties:

 

NAAEE ConferenceSpokane, WA, 10/9-13)  Work with Conference and Committee Chairs to:
–  Develop communications, marketing and recruitment technology tools and materials
–  Help recruit and support WA state conference Volunteers
–  Assist in securing auction items
–  Work with NAAEE on the 30 Under 30 program (engaging participation among individuals under 30)
–  Help to coordinate and compile Local Spokane Arrangements for Conference Program

Website Development & Updating

– Update and maintain E3 Washington’s website and FaceBook site

– develop social media platforms and digital recruitment/engagement strategies

– Coordinate with NAAEE web information and materials.

 

Administrative Duties
– Provide general office support such as managing and sorting mail.

– Attend board meetings, support meeting follow up.
– Respond to Info@E3Washington.org  

Location:  E3 WA is located at the Seattle Impact Hub.

 

Time and Duration:  This is a part time, contract position with an approximate, anticipated start date in early May and extending through December 31, 2018.  Stipend committed for the 5 -month period between May 1 – August 31 is $7,000.  We anticipate an equal amount available for the 4-month period between September 1 and December 31, ’18.
