This recruitment is for one full-time, permanent Office Assistant 3 position at Lewis & Clark Trail State Park located in Dayton, Washington.

Duties
Under general supervision by the Area Manager for Blue Mountain Area, this position independently performs a variety of complex clerical duties delegated by the Area Manager, in support of the Area Manager, ensuring that administrative deadlines and expectations are met. This position handles sensitive information and is key in assisting with the coordination and communication of day to day Area operations.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Provides administrative fiscal support to the Area Manager by reviewing and processing financial records and keep expenditure reports up to date and accurate for area.
  • Function as the administrative communication hub for the area during regular business hours to include processing mail/email, answering phones, and responding to inquiries on behalf of Area Manager.
  • Provide administrative support to Area Manager.
  • Review and process confidential records for Area.
  • Maintains Area Manager’s calendar and assist with management of area schedules.
  • Serve as Weberest Administrator for area and ensure systems are operable and seasonal employees are trained.
  • Processes Special Activity Permits per Agency policy and procedures.
Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSURE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Two years of work experience providing administrative or clerical support to multiple staff in an office environment, and assisting customers.

AND

High School graduation or equivalent AND A valid driver’s license.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of state government, rules and regulations
Knowledge of State Parks rules and regulations

Insurance Benefits

Retirement and Deferred Compensation
State Employees are members of the Washington Public Employees’ Retirement System (PERS).  New employees have the option of two employer contributed retirement programs.  For additional information, check out the Department of Retirement Systems‘ web site.
 
Employees also have the ability to participate in the Deferred Compensation Program (DCP).  This is a supplemental retirement savings program (similar to an IRA) that allows you control over the amount of pre-tax salary dollars you defer as well as the flexibility to choose between multiple investment options.
 
Vacation (Annual Leave)
You begin accruing vacation starting your first month of employment. Since we value your loyalty, the amount of vacation you can accrue increases the longer you work with us. Washington State supports members of the armed forces with 21 days paid military leave per year. Vacation accrues for full-time employees per WAC 357-31-165.

Social Security
