Volunteer Program Administrative Specialist

SALARY: $19.59 per hour

WORK LOCATION: Duthie Hill Park in Issaquah  / Marymoor Park in Redmond

JOB TYPE: Temporary Position – part time, up to six months

The Volunteer Program is a robust, action-packed program – both in the field and in the office that recruits and manages enthusiastic and energetic volunteers for King County Parks. Primary duties for this position are to direct Marymoor Park Outdoor Concert volunteer composter/recyclers. Administrative staff assists with coordination of volunteer events which involves: recruiting volunteers, communicating via phone and email, providing equipment and supplies, tracking and recording volunteer hours, and preparing event summaries. If you are a strong volunteer coordinator who cares about the environment, has excellent data management and communication skills and who enjoys working others, this is the job for you.

 

Key Job Duties:

  • Lead volunteers at concerts and events, develop schedules and communicate with volunteers throughout the season.
  • Deliver and pick up tools to and from work units for events. .
  • Work with field staff in assisting with , or leading volunteer events.
  • Prepare and review sites for volunteer events.

 

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Detail and task-oriented with the ability to learn processes quickly and accurately.
  • Basic administrative and organization skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and with the ability to maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading volunteers.
  • Experience in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and social media sites.
