DESCRIPTION

Are you interested in helping launch one of Amazon’s most strategic initiatives? Amazon’s Physical Stores team is focused on developing its footprint.

As a successful GIS Manager on the Amazon Physical Stores Real Estate team, you will lead the development of geospatial analytics. In addition to geospatial-based metrics, you will tackle data-driven analyses of business performance to identify specific and actionable opportunities to solve new and existing business problems. You will collaborate with field teams, product, tech, and business teams for future innovation. You need to be a sophisticated user of GIS mapping tools and advanced quantitative techniques for answering specific business questions. You will deliver comprehensive and actionable data and analyses to the real estate team for use in real time decision making. You will develop tools to provide data to users across the enterprise. You are an expert at synthesizing and communicating insights and recommendations to audiences of varying levels of technical sophistication.

The ideal candidate is a self-driven analyst who has a track record of crafting complex analyses, developing reporting, and creatively solving problems. In addition, you will own and administer the enterprise geospatial platform and database, and are experienced in developing metadata standards and geospatial data quality standards. Finally, you are experienced in developing and maintaining GIS web applications.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· BA/BS Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, GIS, Geography, Predictive Modeling, Economics or a related degree.
· 5+ years of experience with GIS mapping software.
· 8+ years of experience articulating business questions and using quantitative techniques to arrive at a solution using available data.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Masters Degree.
· Experience with developing tools and GIS webmap applications in support of non-technical users.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively advocate technical solutions to leadership.
· Demonstrable track record of dealing well with ambiguity, prioritizing business needs, and delivering results in a dynamic environment.
· Demonstrated track record of creative problem solving; think big, start small, grow fast.
