Corps Positions
Corps Member 2018 (Sept-Dec)
Corps Members are the ones out in the field every day working on teams and doing the physical service necessary to restore green spaces across the Puget Sound region.
Corps Members are committed to service, tackling hands-on projects in the field of habitat restoration and conservation. This term of service is offered through the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS). As such, all applicants must meet the requirements to become an AmeriCorps member and abide by AmeriCorps policies.
This particular Corps Member position is a quarter-term AmeriCorps position, with a minimum 450-hour commitment. Upon joining the Corps, these members will be placed on an existing field crew, made of currently-serving AmeriCorps members and international exchange visitors. This crew will serve together to restore habitat in the Puget Sound region from September through the end of the program in December.

Crew Leader 2019
Crew Leaders work outside, leading Corps Members in environmental restoration projects throughout the Puget Sound region (in urban, suburban, and rural settings). The Crew Leader is responsible for: project coordination between land management agencies, EarthCorps project managers, and 5-6 Corps Members; facilitation of crew safety and well-being, productivity, morale and quality of work; and Corps Member training and education in the field. The position reports to the Corps Program Manager and Corps Operations Manager, who serve as advisers to the Crew Leaders and their crews. EarthCorps crews will be made up of 5-6 Corps Members and a Crew Leader.

Outreach Specialist 2019
The Outreach Specialist works as part of the EarthCorps Volunteer (ECV) program by recruiting and leading community volunteers in the field. This position is a good opportunity for someone with previous experience in volunteer supervision to continue inspiring environmental volunteerism while gaining additional skills in communication of program goals and outcomes.
This position provides a good mix of working in an office and leading volunteers in the field. Office tasks include using online tools to attract and track community volunteers, designing and implementing outreach plans and materials, and targeted recruitment for community volunteer events. Field work includes onsite leadership of volunteers of all ages, invasive plant removal, native plant installation, and maintaining tools and equipment.

Crew Member 2019
Crew Members are the ones out in the field every day working on teams and doing the physical service necessary to restore green spaces across the Puget Sound region. This is a training-level, seasonal AmeriCorps position with EarthCorps. 2019 Crew Members will serve from February through December.
Crew members will work on outdoor environmental restoration projects throughout the Puget Sound Region. Their work directly improves the resiliency of our land by restoring habitat, improving water and air quality, reducing erosion, sequestering carbon and engaging the broader community to become stewards of our shared resource. Typical projects include invasive plant removal, native plant installation, trail maintenance, erosion control, and site maintenance.
In addition to impactful service, corps members have the opportunity to grow professionally and personally through training, implementing environmental projects, feedback and reflection. Crew Members learn valuable team building skills as they work on their communication, conflict management and leadership capacity. Members will join international exchange visitors from around the world as they build a global community, sharing insight and inspiration.
Volunteer Specialist 2019
Volunteer Specialists work as part of the EarthCorps Volunteer (ECV) program and assist in all aspects of community volunteer organization, coordination, and youth engagement events.
This position provides a good mix of field experience along with office experience. The amount of time spent outdoors and in the office fluctuates throughout the year, with more volunteer events in the spring and fall, and fewer events in the winter and summer. Field work includes onsite leadership of volunteers of all ages, invasive plant removal, native plant installation, facilitating outdoor educational activities, and maintaining tools and equipment. Office tasks include planning for volunteer events, maintaining of systems, and designing and implementing outreach activities and materials for a variety of audiences.

Logistics Specialist 2019
The Logistics Specialist plays a critical support role by ensuring the habitat restoration crews have the tools & equipment necessary to accomplish project goals, and by performing hands-on field service as a project assistant.
The majority of the Logistics Specialist’s time is divided between logistics projects and field work. About 20% of their time is spent in workshops, retreats, orientations and outside trainings. The Logistics Specialist also serves as an informal adviser and mentor to EC crews.

Habitat Restoration Specialist 2019
The Habitat Restoration Specialist position is a great opportunity for an individual with previous field experience to continue building physical skills while gaining additional insight around project planning and management. This position plays a critical support role to our field services team by serving as a project assistant and supporting crews in the field. This specialist will spend 80% of their time coordinating or implementing habitat restoration projects and providing logistical support to EarthCorps crews. They will also spend 20% of their time in EarthCorps workshops, retreats, orientations, and outside trainings. The Habitat Restoration Specialist will have the opportunity to serve as an informal advisor and mentor to EarthCorps crews.
