AKF in Central New York is seeking a year-round, part-time resident Program & Operations Manager. Responsibilities include developing programs, cultivating professional affiliations and alliances, generating visibility, and increasing contributed and earned revenue in support of this vital center committed to new creative work and sustainable agricultural practice. The individual will also coordinate space usage, host guests, and assist the Founder in a range of administrative and operational tasks.

 

Ideal Candidate

A highly motivated, entrepreneurial, self-starting individual who enjoys working with artists/educators/farmers and who appreciates a rural lifestyle.

Education: Bachelor’s degree, with master’s degree preferred

Experience: Administrative leadership at an institution working directly with artists and/or other creative individuals, possibly within an arts or cultural organization, farmer’s cooperative, etc.

Skills: A broad range of skills ranging from practical computer skills and administrative abilities to long-range institutional planning and development; highly organized with a strong capacity for follow through a must.

Hours, Compensation, Housing: The position requires an average of 20 hours per week with a variable schedule and has the potential to develop into a full-time position as programming and fundraising continue to advance.

Compensation: The Program and Operations Manager will be paid $1,500 per month ($18,000 per calendar year), plus provided free housing in the lower level apartment of a duplex. The apartment has a living/dining room, full kitchen, two bedrooms, office space, laundry room, and a two-car garage. The Manager will have access to studios and other facilities as available.

For the appropriately qualified candidate, SUNY-Cobleskill offers the opportunity of a part-time adjunct faculty position, with competitive compensation and health insurance.
