The Puget Sound Partnership (PSP) leads the region’s collective effort to restore, protect, and sustain Puget Sound. We align the work of our partners around a shared vision and science-driven, prioritized strategies. We ensure smart investments that help to allocate resources efficiently and effectively. By striving to remove financial, regulatory, and resource barriers for our partners, we serve as a catalyst for success in restoring health to Puget Sound. To achieve its mission of restoring the Puget Sound ecosystem to health, the Partnership has significant responsibilities to evaluate progress towards ecosystem recovery by monitoring and assessing:

  1. Ecosystem status and trends,
  2. The effectiveness of strategies, programs and projects to protect, restore and prevent pollution in Puget Sound,
  3. Causes-and-effects linkages for issues involving high risks and difficult tradeoffs, and
  4. Implementation of ecosystem recovery actions.

PSP’s founding statute created three boards – the Leadership Council, the Ecosystem Coordination Board, and the Science Panel.  As a regional organization for salmon recovery, the agency also supports the Puget Sound Salmon Recovery Council (SRC).  These three statutory boards and SRC are integral to the development and implementation of our shared roadmap to recovery, our shared measurement system, and our shared effort to mobilize funding.  Working closely with the Boards Program Manager and the Special Assistant to the Boards, the Boards Policy Specialist will lead development of work plans, agendas and products for two of our boards – the Ecosystem Coordination Board and the Science Panel.  The Boards Policy Specialist also will support the statutory boards and SRC as they define and implement special projects to advance recovery.

More information on the Partnership is available at our website: www.psp.wa.gov.
