Management team. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary collaborative team to develop and complete monitoring and applied research projects. This will include proposal development, report writing, study design, project management, data collection, field and laboratory work, summary and analysis of water resources and geochemical data, interpretation of results, integration of data with information from other sources, and application of the results to support industry-sponsored projects, public policy, and natural resource management and environmental stewardship across Alberta. The successful candidate will also be required to prepare and present client reports and publish results in the scientific literature. The ability to adapt to a dynamic schedule and to work both independently and as part of a team is essential. Candidates require a graduate or post-graduate degree in earth sciences or related discipline along with 3-5 years of experience working in the field of water resources, hydrology, or hydrogeology. The individual must flexible to work and conduct research independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team, be willing to conduct field work, have excellent interpersonal and communication and technical writing skills, and experience in project management. We are especially interested in candidates with knowledge of isotopes and inorganic/organic geochemistry, with strong spatial and statistical analytical skills. Knowledge and experience with Alberta’s oil sands industry and familiarity with Microsoft Office, SigmaPlot, GIS and Geomatics software (ArcGIS, ArcHYDRO) , Statistical methods (PCA, R, MATLAB), and programs such as PHREEQC and AQACHEM or similar software would be definite assets. The candidate requires a valid driver’s license.
