About Methow Recycles:
Methow Recycles was founded by volunteers who imagined a community with easier and more comprehensive access to recycling. It has grown into a waste prevention organization offering an excellent recycling program as part of the solution. Its Waste Prevention Programs include Repair Cafes, Materials Reuse, and a Tool Library. Education and Outreach Programs advance the goals of Waste Reduction and Recycling in the schools and community at large.
All Methow Valley recycling comes through Methow Recycles and most is made into new products within 250 miles of Twisp. Since 2002 Methow Recycles has facilitated the diversion or recycling of over 12,000 tons from the waste stream through the recycling center in Twisp. Volunteers touch most of those tons. Organizational and community commitment to high quality ensures our continued access to recycling markets in these uncertain times.
Methow Recycles is a not-for-profit enterprise supported by donations, the sale of materials, fees for service, and grants. A volunteer board of directors governs and the Executive Director manages the organization.
