Stand with Protectors of the Salish Sea

From Power Past Fracked Gas

After walking over 40 miles from the site of the proposed Tacoma LNG terminal to Olympia, the Protectors of the Salish Sea prayer walk has culminated at the State Capitol. Indigenous protectors are demanding that Gov. Jay Inslee declare a climate emergency and halt major fossil fuel projects proposed in Washington, including Kalama methanol and Tacoma LNG.

Last week, our coalition joined Protectors of the Salish Sea at the Dept. of Ecology to deliver over 140,000 petitions rejecting fracked gas projects proposed in Washington. The Power Past Fracked Gas coalition continues to stand in solidarity with the Protectors of the Salish Sea and indigenous communities in Washington leading the movements for a fossil fuel-free future.

Now, join us this Saturday as we stand in solidarity with indigenous leaders to encourage our state officials to take bold action to address our climate crisis.

When: Saturday, October 5, 11 AM – 2 PM
Where: Washington State Capitol, 416 Sid Snyder Ave SW, Olympia
RSVP and see more information on Facebook here. Follow Native Daily Network for coverage.

This is an indigenous led event and we ask that anyone coming to celebrate history with us respects the traditions and protocols of the original peoples of this land.
