Alumni Programs in Advancement is recruiting volunteers for Return to Evergreen (Return), our annual alumni weekend celebrating Greener grads, and we invite you sign-up! Designed to engage and reconnect alumni and friends with the life of the college, Return offers a menu of 15+ interactive workshops, seminars, social events, and a field trip. The success of Return would not be possible without the support of campus partners like you! See below for opportunities to get involved and more about how you can lend your talents to this effort. Return to Evergreen Volunteer Opportunities
- Van Driver (9:00am-7:00pm *broken out into two hour shifts*)
Van drivers provide transportation services throughout the day from the parking lots to the Library Building and throughout campus for guests with mobility limitations and in the event of inclement weather (heavy rain). Those filling this role are required to have an Evergreen vehicle permit.
- Session Assistant (Session 1: 10:30am-12:00pm | Session 2: 1:45pm-3:15pm | Session 3: 3:30pm-5:00pm)
You will get to attend one of our faculty and alumni-led breakouts. Session assistants greet attendees, support presenters by passing out session materials, and act as a point of contact for troubleshooting room set up (i.e., audio visual, room equipment). When troubleshooting, session assistants will be able to contact a member of Advancement to resolve any matter quickly. We do our best to match volunteers with the session(s) of their preference.
- Event Greeter (Saturday Registration: 9:30am-11:00am |Social Hour: 5:00pm-6:30pm)
Are you fond of social activities and entertainment? As a greeter, you will help set the tone for guests by enthusiastically welcoming them at Saturday registration and/or our Sip & Savor Social Hour. You will help guests navigate the schedule for the day and field questions they may have. We will provide you with an event briefing beforehand to familiarize yourself with FAQs.
- Saturday Information Booth (Shift 1: 11:00am-2:00pm |Shift 2: 2:00pm-5:00pm): At the information booth, you will help guests with any questions that they have throughout the day. We will provide you with an event briefing beforehand to familiarize yourself with any possible questions that might come up.
- Pre-event Preparation (Shift 1: Flexible – 1-2 Hours): If you require a more flexible volunteer schedule, you can assist us in the Advancement office with some of the detail-oriented preparations that range from assisting with reminder phone calls to assembling registration packets and other pre-event tasks in the last days leading up to the event. Dates and times will be communicated upon your expressed interest.
- Registration Calling
Join us for an evening calling party to drive attendance for the event. We will provide you will a calling script and brief training before asking you to make any calls. Calling parties include dinner/snacks for the evening and are held in Advancement (Lib. 3900). Dates and times will be communicated upon your expressed interest.
Volunteer Accommodations
- You will be provided with breakfast refreshments and a catered lunch.
- Volunteers will have access to our volunteer hospitality suite featuring a variety of snacks and a place for taking breaks throughout the day.
