Eco Lions is a branch club of Lacey Midday that meets up to do environmental service projects together. We are starting a new service project related to Food Recovery. We will be supporting the Thurston County Food Bank, by repackaging prepared foods from school and restaurant buffets into ready-to-heat take home meals for families, seniors and children.

By doing this work, we will be reducing the amount of methane produced by rotting food in landfills, thus mitigating climate change and protecting the Environment. It also addresses the issue of hunger in our communities. Finally, by getting more fruit and vegetables into the diets of low income people, it helps to reduce obesity, a leading risk factor for Diabetes.
