Position Description

The Spring Garden Builder Intern gains hands-on experience in community building & garden building by supporting the Victory Garden Project (VGP) team in coordinating and constructing backyard gardens with low-income families in our community. The position leads teams of volunteers to construct 40 gardens throughout the course of the spring quarter.  The Spring Garden Builder Intern will also help facilitate gardener relations, schedule workshops with the Victory Farm Manager, and provide regular office & organizational support as needed. You will work closely with the Victory Garden Project Coordinator and other interns. The VGP Spring Garden Builder Intern is a part-time, unpaid, learning position with the possibility of earning college credits.

Time Commitment

Spring Quarter: March 30th  – June 12th

15-20 hours per week, Monday—Friday, flexible schedule, evenings & weekends as needed

KEY Position Responsibilities

• Drive the VGP truck and lead teams of volunteers on garden builds

• Support the Victory Garden Coordinator as needed

• Coordinate garden builds with gardeners & maintain communication with gardeners as needed
