Project and Data Support Position

Time Commitment: 10 hours/week.

Description: SBGH-Partners is seeking a graduate-level individual to help with collecting, validating and reporting data as part of the State’s 2020 State of Salmon in Watersheds Report (see 2018 report here https://stateofsalmon.wa.gov/). The individual hired into the project and data support position will be responsible for:

Researching and summarizing salmon-related data regarding climate change, water availability, glacial and snowpack retreat, water quality and more.

Conceptualizing and identifying preferred data display approaches for individual datasets.

Other related tasks as needed.

Desired Skills and Abilities:

Demonstrated background and/or interest in climate data and effects on salmon.

Strong writing and research skills.

Ability to communicate effectively.

Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

Familiarity with ArcGIS Online, Tableau, and WordPress.

Compensation: The Project and Data Support Position will be paid $20/hour and run from March 23, 2020 through December 31, 2020. The schedule is flexible, but should equate to 10 hours per week. The individual hired into the position can work remotely, but should be available for occasional meetings in Olympia.
