This is the second of two webinars that EPA is offering at no cost to help you learn more about renewable energy options and practical, reliable financing solutions.  Register here.

Electricity use is often the single largest source of an organization’s emissions and air pollution footprint, not to mention being a significant expense. Making the simple choice to use renewable energy can offer environmental, economic and community benefits.

On this webinar, you will learn about the various options available in the market to buy green power through retail purchase, self-generation and direct purchase from a renewable project. You will learn about how to align your desired energy and environmental outcomes to specific green power supply options. You will learn about the role of renewable energy certificates and how they can support your organization meeting its renewable energy and carbon footprint reduction goals. Speaker: James Critchfield, Program Manager, EPA Green Power Partnership (See bio below.)

James Critchfield currently directs the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Green Power Partnership – a voluntary program that supports organizational procurement of green power to reduce the environmental impacts associated with electricity use. The Green Power Partnership is a free voluntary program that supports hundreds of organizations including Fortune 500®, small and medium sized businesses, higher education institutions, Federal, state and local governments as well as not-for-profit organizations nationwide.

James also leads an initiative under a joint collaboration with the US Department of Energy to advance solar utilization within the mid-scale solar market. Prior to joining EPA, James worked in California for a leading solar energy system design and build firm. He is also the current Chair of ASTM’s E44.25 Sub Committee on Heat Metering. His education includes a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California at Berkeley, as well as a Master of Business Administration from the Thunderbird School of Global Management
