Sound Learning is looking for an AmeriCorps member for 2014-15.

Sound Learning is a non-profit organization offering small group tutoring and classes in the areas of Basic Skills, GED Prep, and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL).  We have programs in Mason and Thurston Counties, and serve over 200 adults and youth every year.  Sound Learning staff and volunteers are committed to learner-centered education that addresses the realities of participants’ lives and is based on a collaborative model.

The AmeriCorps member will assist in implementing high-quality, learner-centered education programs that help adults develop strong reading, writing, math, communication, and computer skills.  Primary responsibilities include teaching, curriculum development, recruitment/coordination of volunteers and students, outreach and event planning.
