Our Waste 2 Resources (W2R) Program is looking to hire a Statewide Resources Section Manager (WMS Band 2). The position is located at our Headquarters Building in Lacey, WA. The Statewide Resources Section Manager position reports directly to the W2R Program Manager. This position is responsible for and non-regulatory elements of solid waste management, waste reduction and recycling, and for assuring protection of public health and the environment, and the preservation of state natural and economic resources. This position ensures that Ecology’s W2R statutes, policies and regulations are developed and implemented in a fair, consistent manner. The goal of the Statewide Resources Section Manager is to enhance protection of Washington’s people and resources through sound management of the W2R Program’s Headquarters Statewide Resources Section staff, budget and resources in a manner that fosters positive relationships with business and local government partners.

Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in science or related field AND a minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience of a diverse workforce. Up to 5 years experience in solid waste management, hazardous waste management, toxic cleanup, environmental permitting, legislative analysis and rule interpretation.
